A major tell-tale sign of inadequate nutritional intake or
delivery and hormonal imbalance is thinning hair. You can
use a wig, but that will only make matters worse because
there will be a decrease in circulation of fresh air to the area. Scarfs are a good temporary coverup, but let's get to the real solutions.
Of importance is exercise. Good circulation is necessary
to get nutrients and oxygen to feed the scalp and hair.
Nutrients that help your circulation by keeping arteries open include antioxidants and essential fatty acids, along with Vitamins B6, B12, and folic acid. The B vitamins help build your red blood cells for better oxygen and nutrition delivery.
The recommended dose for Vitamin B6 is 10 - 200 mg.
Foods rich in B6 are brown rice, bananas, soybeans, nuts,
milk, green veggies, and unsulphured molasses.
The Vitamin B12 recommended dose is 50 - 50,000 mcg.
Great sources are yogurt, chicken, and sea vegetables.
Taking 400 - 800 mcg of folic acid is the recommended dose.
Vitamins B12 and C help absorption. Spinach, asparagus,
broccoli, and wholegrains contain folic acid.
A good supplement to take is garlic with parsley at 500 mg, 3 times a day. The garlic improves circulation and the
parsley deoderizes internally to prevent a garlicky smell.
Hair is 98% protein. An adequate intake of lean fish,
chicken, and Omega-3 enriched eggs is necessary. But, if
you have less than optimal digestion your body may not be
absorbing enough protein. Pepsin and hydrochloric acid
supplements will help with the breakdown and absorption of
protein. Take 1 or 2 capsules with high protein meals.
Another possible solution is the supplement sulfur.
Persons on low fat diets tend to lack the right amount of
sulfur. This lead to hair loss. Take up to 5 grams sulfur in
supplement form and intake sulfur-rich foods such as
eggs and meats.
Biotin is an excellent supplement for helping to stop hair
from thinning out. A dose of 2 - 5 mg is recommended for
optimal hair nutrition. Tuna, peanuts, whole brown rice, and
peas contain biotin.
For luxurious and shiny hair intake silicon. Oats, avocados,
sunflower seeds and honey contain silicon. For a full effect,
take an infusion of dry horsetail herb.
Many women use natural progesterone cream to keep
hair from thinning or falling out. It is best to test your blood
level hormones to find out if you are estrogen dominant or
menopausal. Most leading natural health experts' consensus
is that you use a natural progesterone cream once a day for
25 days, then take a break for 1 to 2 weeks (menopausal
women) or for the duration of your period. Repeat the process.
Most manufacturer's recommend 1/4 teaspoon daily.
Explore your options and pay attention to your dietary
habits to figure out the best route for you to take to relieve
or prevent hair thinning and hair loss.
